Am I really this spoiled?

I was driving through my in-laws neighborhood yesterday and I happened to take notice to a specific house. The owner has been spending the past few years fixing the driveway, adding onto the house and re-landcaping the entire yard. It really made me think about how spoiled we are. We can't just be happy with the house that we are in. In stead we have to make it better. Now, I'm the first one that is guilty of this. Growing up, I lived in a house that was constantly and still is constantly being renovated. The second my husband and I bought our house, we immediately starting fixing it into what we wanted.

There are so many people out there that are lucky to live in a little hut with no electricity and no
running water. But me...I can't be happy with just a roof over my head...I have to make it perfect. I have to drive the car that I want and won't settle for less.

So, yesterday was a realization for me, that although I don't necessarily act spoiled (well at least I don't think I do), the truth is...I am. So thank you God for giving me all of the things I have and may I never for one second take them for granted.

  1. I actually disagree with you on this one...(in the nicest way possible)....

I think that fixing up your house and taking care of what God gave you is being a steward of what you have. Nothing IRKS me more then when people have a home, and don't do a good job taking care of it. How can the Lord trust you with more? You know? Thats always been Declan and I's theory. We're so grateful for what we have, that we want to continue to make it into the nicest place possible, by keeping our gardens up, keeping rooms painted, etc.

although, i'm glad you had a personal revelation ;)
    haha

    love ya

  2. I don't see anthing wrong with wanting to make our things look better or nicer, but I do see your point. I sometimes complain about my aprtment, how it's too small, too this. not enough of that, but sometimes I just have to stop and remind myself to be grateful and Thank God for all the things I aldready have in my life. THank you for reminding me of that once again :)!!

  3. Spoiled... I don't think your spoiled. But if you felt like God was try to speak to you through this experience then keep it in your heart and God will show you what HE wants you to do with it. Does that make sences or do I sound like I'm just rambling.

Maybe if its just to remind you of all your blessings! :) I love when God does that to me! xo!
